Sandhya joined the SHARE lab after learning about Dr. Huo’s research in a human development research methods class. She is deeply interested in understanding the roles of social relationships, quality of life, and empathy within the older adult population. With a passion for cognition and mental health, Sandhya is eager to contribute to research that explores how these factors influence the well-being of older adults. She is very excited to apply the skills she’s gained as an undergraduate and deepen her understanding of how social relationships contribute to the mental health of older adults as a research assistant. Sandhya looks forward to growing her expertise in human development and making a positive impact through her work in the lab. She enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, running, and biking, and loves trying new foods! She aspires to help others and contribute to her community by pursuing a career in healthcare.
Fun fact: she is left-handed, but she plays the bass right-handed!
